Job summary

Estella Health is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Paramedics to support mobile integrated healthcare in Rhode Island. Paramedics will provide care in home settings, drive company vehicles, and coordinate with the care team to deliver preventive and acute care services.

Ideal candidates will have RI EMT-Paramedic licensure, 2 years of experience, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Must reside in RI and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of skilled paramedic experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab draws, medication reconciliation, vital signs; patient assessments; medication administration; ECGs; swabs.
• Perform 12 lead ECGs and sample collection.
• Administer IV medications or hydration.
• Document each patient encounter.

Estella Health is providing mobile and other healthcare services to residents and organizations throughout Rhode Island. We are currently seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Paramedics to support the mobile integrated healthcare program.

Purpose

Under the direction of the Estella Health Leadership and supervisory staff, paramedics (EMTPs) will provide safe and effective medical care at the preventative and acute care level. As a paramedic (EMTP), you will be a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing medical care to patients in a community paramedicine program or admitted in a hospital at home setting. Your primary role will be to provide typical medical care to patients. This position requires a compassionate and skilled paramedic with the ability to work effectively in a home setting.

The paramedic will be responsible for visits to patients in their homes throughout Rhode Island.

Safely driving a company issued vehicle.

Medical Responsibilities

• Providing various medical services such as lab draws, medication reconciliation, basic vital signs, patient assessments, medication administration, obtaining 12 Lead ECG’s, sample collections, COVID/Flu/RSV swabs
• IV medication administration or hydration
• Documentation for each patient encounter.

The Paramedic must be willing to work independently in the community while maintaining open communication with the care team and providers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Must live in the state of RI (Warwick and surrounding towns preferred but not required).
• Current active EMT-Paramedic license in good standing in Rhode Island.
• Two years of skilled paramedic experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions using the English language.
• Satisfactory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information)

Physical Requirements

• The demands of the position require typical physical strength and dexterity along with the ability to function in adverse environments with potential exposure to the numerous health and safety risks inherent in the healthcare environment. It is expected that the performance of any or all of the physical activities described below would not hinder the paramedic’s ability to perform patient care.
• Ability to carry equipment (first in bag of supplies, zoll cardiac monitor) as needed
• Ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp in a variety of circumstances in order to provide patient care.
