Job summary

JLL is seeking an Experienced Generator Technician to maintain, inspect, test, repair and ensure readiness of emergency generator systems across client sites in the region. This role requires advanced technical expertise in generator systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to travel frequently.

You will ensure compliance with NFPA 110, manufacturer schedules, and JLL standards while coordinating with vendors and maintaining accurate CMMS records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of generator maintenance experience (diesel, propane and natural gas).
• Experience with generator controllers and licensing as required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 110 and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform load bank testing and fuel/oil sampling for third-party analysis.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems including ATS and control panels.
• Adhere to Universal Waste Disposal Program.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%).
• OSHA safety training and EPA Section 608 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and natural gas generators and related components (ATS, panels, fuel, cooling, exhaust, batteries).
• Conduct operational testing including monthly loads, annual loads, and 3-year NFPA 110 tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve generator system faults (electrical, mechanical, control).
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance, inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with air permits, fuel quality standards, and safety protocols; coordinate with vendors for major repairs and inspections.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and update manuals/logbooks for generator components.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout and PPE policies; provide training to site staff as needed.
• Travel to multiple client sites to perform maintenance and repairs.
