Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring skilled automotive technicians to diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors and trailers. You will handle brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, and exhaust systems, perform preventive maintenance, and complete DOT inspections.

The role includes managing parts, writing work orders, and delivering excellent customer service on mobile road calls and in-yard work. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience repairing commercial tractors and trailers.
  • Experience in federal inspections and brake inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and no suspensions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate company devices for work orders.
  • Comfortable using computers for billing and work orders.
  • Ability to explain diagnoses over the phone and guide customers on repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors and trailers including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine and exhaust systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service parts like tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates.
  • Write work orders and manage repair orders for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
  • Inspect equipment to meet DOT road safety requirements.
  • Manage service truck inventory and source parts locally.
  • Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and timely.
  • Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

Responsibilities

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors and trailers, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, systems, components and after-treatment systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates.
  • Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
  • Inspecting tractors and trailers to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
  • Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
  • Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
  • Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers.
  • Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders.
  • Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
  • Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience with stick welding.
  • Your own tools.
  • Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE.
