Job summary

gearUP is seeking a skilled tractor-trailer mechanic for a rewarding independent contractor position in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. You’ll inspect trailers, service brakes, lighting, tires, and DOT tape, and perform preventive maintenance on our fleet.

A valid driver’s license is required; Class A CDL preferred. The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, using hand tools, and maintaining accurate work orders and inventory while traveling between yards.

Qualifications

• 1 year tractor trailer mechanic experience required.
• Valid driver's license; Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspections of trailers, including lighting, tires, and DOT tape.
• Brake inspections and adjustments.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance inspections on equipment.
• Maintain work orders, parts inventory, and service tools.
• Travel around the DFW area to service trucks.
