Job summary

Robert Dietrick Co. is seeking an experienced Service Technician to travel to customer locations and inspect, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install loading dock equipment, industrial doors, and related gear.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, independent work, and professional customer interaction. Preferred candidates have experience in industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, or field service, with the RDC training program for dock and door systems.

Qualifications

Requires hands-on mechanical experience and ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems.
Prior field service experience is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
Strong communication with customers and professional conduct in the field.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other equipment issues.
Inspect, repair, maintain, and service loading dock equipment, industrial doors, specialty lifts, and related equipment.
Disassemble equipment to diagnose issues and complete repairs.
Reassemble, align, adjust, and test equipment for proper operation.
Install new or refurbished equipment per specs and drawings.
Identify root causes and determine repair or replacement steps.
Use hand and power tools safely; operate hoists and lifting devices.
