Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Field Service Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment at customer sites. The ideal candidate will work independently in the field with strong troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service.

Key duties include traveling to client locations, performing routine and emergency repairs, reading manuals and schematics, completing work orders and maintenance logs, and ensuring safety and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on diesel-powered machinery.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition and maintenance needs.
• Operate service trucks and maintain inventory of tools and replacement parts.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
