Job summary

Amrize in the United States (Kentucky) is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator I to transport materials around the quarry and support production with safe, efficient equipment operation. You’ll handle haul trucks, front end loaders, dozers, excavators, and other heavy gear; perform pre-shift inspections and report issues; and work overtime as needed to meet shipping schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write
• Experience in varying weather elements; quarry experience preferred.
• Experience operating/maintaining and troubleshooting heavy equipment.
• Self-motivated with a solid work ethic.
• Willingness to work shift, overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks, water trucks, rock breakers, and fuel trucks.
• Operate mobile equipment including front end loaders, haul trucks, dozers, backhoes, graders, excavators, dredge and skid steer loaders.
• Inspect equipment each shift and report problems.
• Correct malfunctions or report if corrections cannot be made.
• Perform cleanup to maintain a safe work environment.
• Take accurate counts of material additions as required.
• Communicate safety, maintenance and production needs.
• Assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

About The Role

Mobile Equipment Operator position is a key positon transporting materials throughout the quarry into piles, trucks or crushers, depending upon production/shipping requirements.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Primary operations of haul trucks; water trucks, rock breakersand fuel truck.
• Depending upon quarry operational requirements, operating mobile equipment to include, but not limited to front end loaders (993s, 992s, 980s, etc.), haul trucks, dozers, backhoes, grader, excavators, fuel truck, dredge and skid steer loaders.
• Inspect all operating equipment each shift, complete inspection sheets and report problems.
• Correct malfunctions or irregularities of operating equipment and safety hazards or report to quarry supervisor if corrections cannot be made.
• Do any cleanup that is necessary to have a better and safer working environment.
• Taking accurate and reliable counts of material additions as required.
• Maintain strong communication with quality personnel and make adjustment to material blends as required
• Communicate all safety, maintenance and production needs.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Ability to read and write Additional Education Preferred: High School Diploma or GED

Required Work Experience

Experience working in varying weather elements. Quarry experience preferred.

• Experienced with operating/maintaining and troubleshooting heavy equipment
• Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions
• Self-motivated with a solid work ethi
• Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment
• Ability to learn plant flow, plant operations and screening
• Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Previous experience in a construction or quarry environment preferred.
• This job requires shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work. Employees may have the work schedule adjusted on short notice.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
