Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an entry-level Utility Person to support plant operations with manual tasks and equipment operation. You will shovel, sweep, lift, and assist with conveyors while learning to operate skid steers, backhoes, pavers, and rollers under supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork and reliability, with responsibilities spanning production support, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, inspections, and cross-functional duties across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or relevant experience.
• 3+ years preferred in aggregate/plant operations.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant mobile equipment safely (e.g., skid steer, water truck, front-end loader).
• Conduct pre/post-shift inspections and maintain logs.
• Assist with production, loading, and shipping tasks.
• Perform basic repairs and welding under supervision.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and assist with housekeeping.
• Support maintenance, stockpile management, and cross-department tasks.
