Job summary

Slaymaker Rentals in the United States is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our rental fleet, including aerial lifts and excavators. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer-focused service.

You’ll diagnose complex issues, mentor junior technicians, and support field service at customer sites, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7 AM to 5 PM and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience as a mechanic (heavy equipment, diesel, or related field preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Medical Card Required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work in both indoor shop and outdoor field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on aerial and dirt equipment with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
• Provide field service support, including customer jobsite repairs and occasional equipment retrieval.
• Mentor and assist in training junior technicians to support team development.
• Order parts, manage work orders, and track repair progress accurately.
• Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and customers regarding repairs and timelines.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support overall service operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

About the Role:

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation for both customers and internal use. This position performs advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in both shop and field environments.

In addition, this role serves as a technical leader by mentoring and supporting junior technicians while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide field service support, including customer jobsite repairs and occasional equipment retrieval
