Job summary

biz4d is seeking a Mobile Engineer (iOS or Android) in Frankfurt to architect, design and deliver native mobile apps as we expand from E-commerce into tech solutions. You will own a full stack for mobile, collaborate in an international team, and contribute to modern DevOps practices.

You bring 5+ years in mobile development, Swift or Kotlin, and MBaaS experience with Firebase or Amplify. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, delivering and maintaining native Mobile Apps for end customers (B2C) on iOS/Android.
• Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals, OO design patterns and cloud-native concepts.
• Experience across full SDLC and DevOps practices, ideally in ecommerce.
• Proficiency in Swift for iOS and Java/Kotlin for Android.
• Experience with MBaaS platforms (Firebase/AWS Amplify).
• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (ReactNative/Flutter/Xamarin).
• CI/CD SaaS experience for native mobile apps is a plus.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and mobile test-automation.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent work exp.
• Self-organized with ownership mindset and strong analytical skills.
• Fluent in English; German a plus.

• Architect, design and implement our technology platform, supporting our growth from E-commerce into tech solutions
• Deliver Mobile Apps that serve as a primary touchpoint of customers interacting with our new range of smart products
• Integrate product features in a delightful Customer Experience
• Fully own, i.e. develop, maintain and operate (full DevOps) your team’s tech stack
• Be a team player as part of an agile, empowered team and contribute to the development of fellow engineers
• Contribute to the improvement of our CI&CD and DevOps & SRE practices
• Taking part in recruitment processes to grow our tech team

This is what you’ll bring to us:

• 5+ years of experience designing, delivering and maintaining native Mobile Apps for end customers (B2C) on iOS/Android
• Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, incl. data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design patterns (GoF and cloud-native)
• Several years of proven experience in software development and operation practices covering the full software development lifecycle, ideally in an E-commerce business
• Strong expertise of Swift as your primary programming language and the iOS toolchain/ strong expertise of Java or Kotlin as your primary programming language and the Android toolchain
• Experience with cloud-based Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS) platforms (e.g. Google Firebase or AWS Amplify)
• First experiences with cross-compiling frameworks (i.e. ReactNative, Flutter.io or Xamarin)
• Ideally experience with CI/CD SaaS for native Mobile Apps
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, Backend-for-Frontend pattern, Mobile Apps test-automation and low-range wireless protocols (i.e. Bluetooth LE)in iOS
• Understanding of the importance of well-organized codebase and documentation
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics or equivalency in relevant work experience
• You are highly self-organized and interested in taking over ownership and bringing the team to the best solution
• You have strong analytical skills and are an open-minded and creative team player
• Public GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket account with demonstrable coding projects is a plus
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken), German is a great plus
