Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Mobile Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building, industrial, and site systems in the Charlotte area. You will oversee mechanical, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and control systems and manage work orders, parts, and safety compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 4–5 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and EPA Universal preferred. Proficiency with CMMS and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Valid driver's license and EPA Universal preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing.
  • Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Advanced math skills for percentages, fractions and financial calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility.
  • Review work orders, estimate time and materials, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and manage emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review inspections to ensure systems operate within design specifications and environmental conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.
  • Operate company vehicles in daily work responsibilities.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly to stakeholders.

About The Role

As a CBRE Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Valid driver's license required, and EPA Universal is highly preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook, Teams, and experience with a CMMS.
  • Advanced math skills, capable of computing mildly complex figures like percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
