Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, a leading network in the commercial vehicle industry, is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to service clients at their sites. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment, ensuring safety and uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control for service truck and stocked vehicle.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain after-hours availability and open work schedule.
• Inspect and service diesel engines and related components.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and plan repair procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Perform part replacements such as injectors, pistons, bearings, and transmissions.
• Document all work in the mobile service program accurately and timely.
• Communicate with customers regarding repairs and schedule follow-ups.
• Advise customers on repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
