Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to repair and maintain heavy- and medium-duty trucks. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, complete repairs, and document all work on the repair order with clarity.

Responsibilities include communicating with parts and service advisors, following safety rules, and supervising apprentices as assigned. A High School diploma and hands-on diesel experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent
• Basic computer skills required
• High School Diploma; college/technical training preferred but not required
• Customer-focused with strong relationship-building and solutions orientation

• Strong decision quality to move work forward

Responsibilities

• Performs repair and maintenance on medium & heavy-duty trucks per repair order, following dealership and factory standards
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts for warranty or customer requests
• Examines vehicles to determine further safety or service needs
• Keeps service advisor/dispatcher updated on repairs
• Documents all work performed on repair orders
• Supervises apprentices as assigned
• Reports machinery defects to supervisor
• Keeps vehicle and dealership tools organized and safe, compliant with regulations
