Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician in West Palm Beach, FL. This skilled role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy-duty trucks, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and detailed work notes.

The technician will service equipment, order parts, and supervise apprentices as needed, all while adhering to dealership and factory standards. A CDL is a plus, ASE and Cummins certifications are valued to advance within a network of dealerships.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • High School Diploma preferred, college or technical training optional.
  • Valid CDL License a plus.
  • ASE Certification a plus.
  • Cummins Engine Repair Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repair and maintenance on Medium & Heavy Duty Trucks as per repair order.
  • Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job when under warranty or upon customer request.
  • Inspects vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is needed or recommended.
  • Maintains and uses tools; documents work performed on the repair order.
  • Supervises apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Keeps vehicle clean and informs supervisor of any changes to appearance or condition.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer bulletins.

The Mobile Technician at Nextran Truck Centers is a skilled position that is responsible for repairing and maintaining our customers Medium & Heavy Duty Trucks. This includes diagnosing issues, preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and re-assembly, and writing detailed work notes.

Essential Duties
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repair.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with service advisor/dispatcher immediately on repair updates and or delays.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensures that vehicle is kept clean. Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE Certification a plus
  • Cummins Engine Repair Certification a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School Diploma- College or Technical training preferred, but not required
  • Valid CDL License a plus
