West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales, a locally-owned group of companies, are dedicated to providing top-notch services in the truck dealership industry. We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, basic repairs, jump starts, fueling, welding, hydraulic repairs, electrical work, and other duties as assigned. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repair services to our customers' diesel vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Respond to after-hours service calls on a scheduled rotation basis, with overtime and commission for completed service calls
  • Diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide time estimates for repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain and manage company-provided service truck, including parts and tools
  • Work independently and maintain a high level of productivity
Qualifications
  • ASE certification preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years of diesel technician experience
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • State of Michigan HDT repair certified
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date on industry training and equipment
  • Possess your own hand tools
Compensation

Our Mobile Diesel Technicians earn between $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer overtime and a commission plan for after-hours service, which means you can make up to $112 per hour!
