Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services, a growing fleet maintenance network, seeks a diesel technician to service Class 6-8 tractors, performing brakes, electrical, A/C, and engine repairs. You’ll use modern tools, write repair orders, and support mobile road calls while delivering strong customer service.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to lift 50+ pounds; experience with billing software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years repairing Commercial Class 8 tractors.
  • Experience with annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean record and no suspensions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Comfortable with computers for billing and work orders.
  • Follows work orders and communicates diagnoses clearly.
  • Self-motivated with strong organization and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors; brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace tires, hubs, axles, lift-gates.
  • Write work orders and open/close repair orders for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
  • Inspect tractors and trailers to meet DOT safety requirements.
  • Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
  • Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
  • Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

Responsibilities
WHAT TO EXPECT:
  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors with minimal trailer work, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, systems, components and after-treatment systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates.
  • Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
  • Inspecting tractors and trailers to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
  • Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
  • Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
  • Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES:
  • 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Class 8 Semi-Tractors with occasional trailer work.
  • Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders.
  • Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
  • Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:

  • Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE.
