Job summary

Midwest Bus Sales Inc is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses, and fleet vehicles at customer locations in the Bonner Springs, KS market.

This field-based role requires hands-on mechanical skills, advanced troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently in the customer environment. A company-provided service truck and manufacturer training support are offered for career growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience diagnosing and repairing medium- or heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses, or comparable commercial fleet vehicles.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and commercial vehicle repair procedures.
• Experience performing repairs beyond routine oil changes, inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses, and related commercial fleet equipment.
• Independently troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems to identify root causes and determine appropriate repairs.
• Use computerized diagnostic equipment, electronic service tools, and technical documentation to diagnose vehicle faults.
• Perform repairs involving diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and heating and air-conditioning systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance, vehicle inspections, and scheduled fleet service.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs, overhauls, and component replacements as needed.
• Respond to mobile service requests, customer breakdowns, and emergency repair situations.
• Communicate diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, estimated repair times, and parts requirements to the Service Writer.
• Identify potential warranty repairs and complete accurate service documentation.
• Record repairs, parts usage, and labor time in the fleet maintenance system.
• Maintain professional relationships with fleet customers while representing Midwest Bus Sales in the field.
