Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician to service Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in the field, performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with a company truck and top-tier tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years diesel tech experience on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
• Strong communication with customers and drivers.
• Comfort using mobile apps, navigation, and digital tools to document repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
• Handle emergency road service calls with urgency.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service.
• Road test vehicles to ensure repairs meet top-quality standards.
• Work with vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
• Take ownership of a company-issued service truck and pre/post-trip inspections.

About the Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician Role

As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you'll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You'll be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service when needed. Geared up with your own, fully equipped company service truck , top-tier tools, and a supportive team that values your skill, drive and dedication , you'll tackle new challenges every day and take pride in delivering safe, reliable and efficient service that keeps America moving.

Where You'll Make an Impact

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment .
• Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.

• Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast .

• Take ownership of a company-issued service truck , perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safety compliance.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise that keeps fleets rolling safely.
• Strong communication skills - you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.
• Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
• Ready for the outdoors - rain or shine at customer yards.
• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated - you take pride in getting the job done right.
• A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
• Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license .
• Bring your own hand tools and we'll supply everything else.
