Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician to service fleets on-site, diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, and perform preventative maintenance in the field.

You will work with a company-equipped service truck, use advanced tools, and contribute to safe, reliable operations. Competitive pay starts at $32–$38 per hour, with weekly pay and a strong benefits package after 30 days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on diesel tech experience on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
• Strong communication skills with customers and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems to keep fleets running safely.
• Use handheld computers and diagnostic tools to identify issues and complete repairs on time.
• Operate a company-provided service truck and stay organized with digital tools.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service and road calls.

About the Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician Role

As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you’ll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You’ll be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service when needed.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.

• Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.

• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.

• Diagnose and repairelectrical, brake, cooling, and air systems - everything that keeps a fleet running strong.

• Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.

• Put your expertise to work using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right.

• Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.

• Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.

• Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.

• Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safety compliance.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.

• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise that keeps fleets rolling safely.

• Strong communication skills – you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.

• Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.

• Ready for the outdoors – rain or shine at customer yards.

• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated – you take pride in getting the job done right.

• A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.

• Must be 23+with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

• Bring your own hand tools and we’ll supply everything else.

• Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas – safety and precision are key.

• Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment.

• Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work.
