We are hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician - Bus Mechanic - Level II.

This role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. The Technician II can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision and continues to learn new skills.

DUTIES:

  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, engine electronics, and more.
  3. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems using test instruments.
  4. Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
  5. Manage parts inventory and perform safety checks and inspections of the service vehicle.
  6. Engage with clients to assess needs and provide solutions.
  7. Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, welding tools, and lifts.
  8. Document work and upload pictures using company devices and applications.
  9. Complete all documentation accurately and timely.
  10. Work independently, manage schedules, and prioritize tasks.
  11. Obtain parts from vendors as needed.
  12. Communicate with management regarding repairs and approvals.
  13. Follow safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  3. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  4. Pass DOT background screening and physical prior to employment.
  5. Possess a valid DOT medical card or submit a current one.
  6. Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Certifications:

  • Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.

Preferred Certifications:

  • ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, 608/609.
