Job summary

Truck Centers, Inc. seeks a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to deliver on-site repairs and fleet maintenance across Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. You will diagnose, inspect, and repair heavy‑duty trucks, following OEM specs and warranty guidelines, at customer sites or in the shop during the learning period.

You’ll work Monday–Friday daytime, with availability for after-hours calls. Field-based work blends hands-on troubleshooting with documentation in the dealer system and field service operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; diesel tech training preferred, or 10+ years of heavy-duty shop experience.
• Class A or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement; insurance requirements.
• HVAC certification; Cummins IS Series, Allison, Caterpillar, Eaton and Meritor certifications preferred.
• Welding and fabrication skills essential.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and keep vehicle stocked with tools for mobile repairs.
• Diagnostics, problem-solving, and road tests to verify repairs meet standards.
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electronics across major systems.
• Document findings in DMS and warranty processing; communicate clearly with customers.
• Work dealership, customer facilities, and roadside locations; lift up to 75 lbs as needed.
