Job summary

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities operates a Mobile Dental Clinic based at Gracewood, Augusta, traveling daily to 26 rural counties. As a Dental Assistant 3 you will assist dentists and hygienists chairside and help run clinic operations with emphasis on patient-centered care.

You will ensure infection control, manage supplies, document treatment in EMR, and educate patients and caregivers with adaptive communication for adults with IDD.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and two years of dental setting experience; or Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting with one year experience; or one year experience at lower level.
• Driver’s License valid Georgia Driver’s License (willingness to drive mobile clinic).
• Experience serving adults with IDD and travel across multi-county regions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside dental assistance during examinations, preventive and restorative procedures.
• Maintain infection control and prepare/disinfect treatment space between patients to ensure workflow.
• Educate patients and caregivers on preventive dental care and oral hygiene while using adaptive communication methods.
