Job summary

Connections Health Solutions in Harrisburg is seeking a Mobile Crisis Responder to provide essential mental health assessment and stabilization services. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with law enforcement and community partners to support individuals in crisis.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do

Mobile Crisis Responders work as part of a community-based mobile crisis response team providing mental health assessment and crisis stabilization services to individuals in various settings. They collaborate closely with Mobile Crisis Therapists, local law enforcement, and community agencies to ensure follow-up care.

  • Assess mental status, risk, and clinical needs of individuals in distress using independent determinations that could have significant ramifications; demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assist and collaborate with law enforcement on mental health-related calls, gathering relevant collateral information, providing resources to individuals and families, and coordinating with community providers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and prevention services in community settings, including jails, hospitals, and private settings; services include crisis counseling, case management, consultation, transportation, and documentation of all services provided.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources for individuals and families.
  • Provide follow-up and coordination of care for individuals in distress.
  • May provide testimony in court in civil commitment cases.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
  • Certified as a Certified Recovery Specialist with the Pennsylvania Certification Board and maintains registration throughout employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable under company policy.
  • Valid certification or completed training of: First Aid and CPR, De-escalation Training.
  • Valid vaccination status; fully vaccinated or exempt per company policy.
  • Must be able to pass the following background checks:
    • Child Abuse Clearance
    • FBI Criminal Background Check
    • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check

It would be great if you had:

  • Additional certification as a Certified Peer Specialist with the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
  • Experience with mental health crises.
  • Experience working in behavioral health.
