Job summary

The City of Portland, through Portland Street Response, seeks a Community Health Supervisor – Operations (QMHA/QMHP) to manage day‑to‑day field operations, coordinate staff and training, and maintain EMS‑level service quality. You will supervise Mental Health Crisis Responders, Peer Support Specialists, and other qualified staff while interfacing with hospitals and first responders.

Qualifications

  • Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • QMHA-I, QMHA-II, or QMHP-C certification.
  • Three years of progressively responsible healthcare or first responder experience or a bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and provide assistance to PSR units in the field.
  • Provide immediate supervision to mobile crisis response teams dispatched via 911.
  • Ensure teams engage with diverse clients respectfully across social and economic differences.
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions to manage workflow and crew safety.
  • Liaise with patients and other first responders, hospitals, and community partners.
