Job summary

Common Ground in Flint, MI seeks a Master-level clinician for Genesee Mobile Crisis Services (GMCS). This on-site, 24/7 program provides mobile crisis support and leadership when needed, collaborating with law enforcement and EMS to ensure safety.

You will conduct assessments, de-escalate crises, and provide brief interventions while planning safety with clients and coordinating with community resources. The role emphasizes a stable schedule and competitive wages with shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Service field.
• Professional licensure in Michigan; LMSW/LPC/LLP path to full license within 5 years.
• QMHP/CMHP or QMHP/QIDP eligibility in Michigan.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year experience in diagnosing, treating mental health/substance use/disabilities.
• Experience in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.
• Experience with diverse age groups and co-occurring disorders.
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis assessment, and intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks and safety concerns for individuals and families in crisis.
• Complete mobile crisis assessments and determine needs.
• Provide trauma-informed, brief crisis intervention for adults and children.
• Develop safety plans with clients and supports; identify coping strategies.
• Arrange transportation to a safe location when needed.
• Assist individuals who are homeless or unsafe at home.
• Coordinate with local agencies for referrals and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with emergency services for transportation to evaluation.
