Job summary

Cardiac Imaging is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic cardiac studies using radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment. You will participate in dose calculations, quality control, and patient safety while supporting physicians.

The role involves travel across Texas and Oklahoma on a mobile unit, with some overnight stays. You will work with cardiology teams, document procedures, and ensure accurate dose preparation and patient education.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent required.
  • NMTCB or ARRT certification with state certification required; maintain accordingly.
  • BLS certification required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously under cardiologist supervision.
  • Calculates and records radiation dosage per physician prescription.
  • Maintains quality control for patient care and equipment usage.
  • Performs QC checks on equipment, meters, and cameras; logs issues.
  • Maintains and calibrates radioisotope equipment; sends out for calibration as needed.
  • Disposes of radioactive materials following safety procedures.
  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals following safety standards to minimize exposure.
  • Documents results of procedures and communicates with patients and team.
