Job summary

TikTok is offering an internship with the Camera Client Team to work on the creation entry point used by hundreds of millions daily. You will help refine the capture experience and optimize performance across devices, while building measurable, repeatable tooling with product and design partners.

You will gain hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply knowledge on real-world challenges, plus social events and development workshops as part of our internship program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Able to commit to 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, proficient in at least one coding language (Java/Kotlin/Swift/Obj-C).
• Curiosity towards mobile client performance and UX optimization.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals and scalable system design.

Responsibilities

• Participate in user experience and performance optimization of TikTok Camera.
• Contribute to optimization of camera interaction experience for faster, smoother creation.
• Assist design and implementation of automated performance monitoring pipelines (Perfetto trace capture, bottleneck analysis, regression detection).
• Use client-side optimization techniques to improve camera responsiveness and stability across devices.
