Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Bethesda is seeking a Mobile Building Engineer Lead to head preventive maintenance and repairs across mechanical, industrial, plumbing, and life-safety systems for client facilities.

You will supervise and optimize maintenance activities, review work orders, and ensure compliance with regulations while coaching diverse teams and coordinating with stakeholders to meet performance targets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, fire alarms, plumbing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep building systems up to standards.
• Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
• Direct the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure machinery and systems meet their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
• Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation within design conditions.
• Coordinate compliance with codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Operate company vehicles in daily work responsibilities.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across multiple disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example consistent with company values and build consensus to reach agreements.
• Impact customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Mobile Building Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for leading preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
• Direct the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
• Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
• Coordinate compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
