Job summary

Quirk Auto Dealerships' Quirk Commercial Truck Center in the Fore River Shipyards is hiring a mobile mechanic. We provide a fully equipped service van and tools. The ideal candidate has heavy-duty truck repair experience, a clean driving record, and dealership experience.

You will perform on-site warranty repairs, maintenance, and recalls on Ford, Stellantis, and GM products, using diagnostic equipment, test driving, and providing repair estimates to the Service Advisor.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing heavy-duty trucks.
• Clean driving record.
• Dealership experience preferred.
• DOT medical card covered by company.
• On-site warranty repairs and recalls experience.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment and special service tools to test vehicle components.
• Test drive heavy-duty vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Diagnose heavy-duty vehicle systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C, etc.
• Provide the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed.

Position Overview

The Quirk Commercial Truck Center, located in the Fore River Shipyards, is hiring a mobile mechanic. We will provide a completely up-fitted service van stocked with tools. Our ideal applicant will have heavy-duty truck repair experience, a clean driving record, and dealership experience. We will cover the cost of a DOT medical card. Our mobile mechanic will be responsible for on-site warranty repairs, maintenance, and performing recalls on Ford, Stellantis, and GM products.

• Using Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test driving heavy-duty vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Diagnosing heavy-duty vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Providing the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed

Key Required Proficiencies

• Using Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test driving heavy-duty vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Diagnosing heavy-duty vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Providing the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed

• Minimum 1 year experience working on vehicles
