Job summary

Lake Sumter State College seeks a MLT Laboratory Assistant to support the MLT program by preparing, setting up, and breaking down lab sessions, managing inventory, and coordinating restocking of materials across labs.

You will assist clinical faculty, monitor hazardous materials, and help maintain a safe, well-organized learning environment while performing clerical duties and coordinating with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; degree evaluation by Hiring Manager or AVP of Health Professions.
• Ability to wear PPE and follow lab safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and travel between campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory records including stock levels, locations, use, warranty, and maintenance.
• Manage and reconcile supply orders, receiving reports, and lab supplies for MLT labs.
• Assist with budget preparations for laboratory supplies.
• Set up and tear down of laboratory supplies for clinical faculty.
• Maintain hazardous materials list and coordinate removal requests.
• Notify vendors for repairs, maintenance and replacements of equipment.
• Ensure lab environment is clean, safe, and orderly daily.
• Clerical duties: calendar management, correspondence prep, file organization, meetings setup, and office procedures.
