Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to coordinate point-of-care testing performed at the bedside and in clinics across our organization.

This role includes staff training, competency assessments, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and test validations. You will partner with clinical teams, troubleshoot testing issues, and support equipment in a collaborative lab environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing high complexity testing required.
• Bachelor's degree and completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory science or associate's degree and MT (HEW) certification required.
• Effective communication skills, initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Certified medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MLS(ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT).
• Equivalent certifications include Medical Technologist (MT(ASCP)) OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist certified by the National Credentialing Agency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate point-of-care testing performed at the bedside and in clinics across the organization.
• Support reliable testing through staff training, competency assessments, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and test validations.
• Partner with clinical teams to troubleshoot testing issues and support equipment and systems.
• Help implement testing in new locations and collaborate with a team of coordinators.
