Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an adjunct teaching MLS professional to perform clinical duties in a high-complexity laboratory while educating medical laboratory science students. The role blends clinical responsibilities with teaching, aligned to regulatory standards and the Geisinger values.

The position supports education program development, ongoing quality improvement, and participation in departmental activities, with a per diem/adjunct appointment and day-shift schedules at Geisinger Medical Center

Qualifications

• MLS teaching and clinical education experience required or equivalent
• ASCP/NAACLS-accredited MLS program completion or MLS-equivalent
• Major in sciences plus appropriate ASCP certification or equivalency

Responsibilities

• Performs MLS duties in a high-complexity lab
• Develops and delivers MLS educational experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of student and patient results
• Troubleshoots problems and reports issues
• Engages in quality improvement and continuing education
• Collaborates with interdepartmental teams to optimize workflows
• Models professional and service-oriented behavior
• May serve on education program or departmental committees
• Participates in recruitment events and faculty activities
