Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Machine Learning User Research Scientist in New York, NY. You will plan and execute global data collection, leverage next‑ generation products, and support client projects in consumer electronics.

You will lead interdisciplinary teams, design studies with quantitative and qualitative methods, and build data‑driven insights for design and development. Travel up to 30% may occur.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant engineering/scientific field.
• Ability to draw insights from data and communicate results clearly.
• Experience in planning and executing user research studies for ML/data science.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute global data collection efforts for ML projects.
• Support prototype hardware/software systems including validation and troubleshooting.
• Lead ad hoc interdisciplinary teams across Data Sciences, Human Factors, Health Sciences, and Engineering Sciences.
• Develop data analysis and visualization tools for project management and demographics.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to project strategy and execution.
