Meta is seeking a PhD intern for its Machine Learning teams to help build scalable ML systems and models powering Meta’s products. You will work on high-volume servers, web applications reaching millions, and distributed computing platforms.

The internship lasts at least 12 weeks with 2026 start dates, and candidates will be matched to teams based on experience and interests. Remote work expectations are not specified.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Research and/or work experience in ML, DL, RL, NLP, recommender systems, or CV.
• Experience in systems software or algorithms.
• Experience coding in Java, C/C++, Perl, PHP, or Python.
• Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at hire and maintain it during employment.

Aufgaben

• Develop scalable classifiers and tools leveraging ML, regression, and rules-based models.
• Collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature roadmap.
• Code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team.
• Adapt standard ML methods to parallel environments (distributed clusters, multicore SMP, GPU).
• Perform team-specific responsibilities which vary by team.
