Job summary

Lyft is seeking an Applied Scientist in the Pricing team to develop mathematical models and productionize ML and optimization pipelines powering pricing and ETA decisions across the two-sided marketplace.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Analysts to translate complex business problems into reliable, scalable solutions that drive short-term results and long-term marketplace health.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in ML/OR/Statistics/CS or other quantitative fields.
• 2+ years of algorithms experience in a technology company.
• Proficiency with Python in a production coding environment.
• Ability to solve unstructured mathematical problems and build impactful ML models.
• Strong understanding of ML methods and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Frame problems mathematically within the business context.
• Write production-grade ML and optimization models and deploy them at scale.
• Perform data analysis and build proof-of-concepts for ML/Optimization solutions.
• Evaluate ML systems against business goals and ensure robustness in live systems.
• Establish metrics and measurement methodologies to monitor product health and impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Pricing, Product, Engineers, and Analysts.
