Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Machine Learning Platform Engineer to join the ML Platform team to build and scale our ML/AI infrastructure. You will work closely with AI/ML engineers to rapidly build, deploy, and iterate high-quality ML and AI infrastructure solutions at scale, ensuring reliability and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate has strong software development skills, experience with data pipelines and ML model deployment, and a passion for AI-native engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing infrastructure for the ML lifecycle.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• Curiosity about emerging AI frameworks and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale ML/AI platform components and pipelines.
• Develop and maintain ML model development and deployment frameworks.
• Collaborate with ML/AI teams to define requirements and SLAs.
• Support deployment of ML services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Promote AI-native practices across engineering and product decisions.
