Job summary

Waymo LLC is offering an on-site internship at our Mountain View, CA headquarters with the Perception team. You will work on state-of-the-art multi-modality perception models (camera, radar, lidar, audio) and contribute to research advancing 3D object detection, segmentation, and open vocabulary methods.

You will train and evaluate models on Waymo driving data and gain exposure to large-scale ML infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field with strong publications.
• Experience building ML models with JAX, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience in object detection, segmentation, multiple-object tracking, audio perception, or occupancy detection.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-modality perception models (camera/radar/lidar/audio).
• Advance 3D object detection, tracking, and occupancy detection.
• Open vocabulary detection using world knowledge models and foundation models.
• Train and evaluate ML models on Waymo driving data and scale ML infrastructure.
