Job summary

Pinterest seeks a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead a hybrid team of ML engineers and backend software engineers focused on identity and conversion visibility across modeling, serving, and data infrastructure. You’ll set the technical direction for high-impact ML systems feeding ranking and measurement in Pinterest’s ads stack.

You will drive collaboration with product, data science, infra, and partner ML teams, ensuring reliability, privacy-aware experimentation, and scalable growth

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and deploying large-scale ML systems in production (ads, measurement, recommendation, ranking, or search).
• 2+ years as an engineering manager or technical lead.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Nice to have: familiarity with ads conversion attribution, identity matching, ads ranking or ads measurement.
• Technical leadership across ML and software systems with multi-quarter roadmaps.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration with product, data science, infra, and partner ML teams.

Responsibilities

• Attract, hire, and lead a hybrid team of ML engineers and backend software engineers.
• Define strategy for identity and conversion signal modeling systems and improve match precision/recall.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, and tech leads to translate business needs into technical plans.
• Collaborate with Ads Ranking & Bidding, Measurement Products, and Attribution teams to define interfaces and success metrics.
• Establish engineering best practices across ML and backend development for reliability and data quality.
• Use AI to accelerate analysis and iterate on model ideas with rigorous verification.
