Job summary

Pinterest is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Content Foundation ML team in the US. You will guide a team of engineers and researchers building foundational content understanding signals that power Discovery, Search, Growth, and Ads, with a focus on scalable ML infrastructure.

You will drive a long-term technical vision, collaborate with product, data science, and partner ML teams, and oversee roadmap, risk, and execution to deliver measurable impact across Pinterest surfaces.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years of management.
• Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Publication at top machine learning and data mining conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, KDD, SIGIR).
• Experience with large-scale distributed training and inference of LLM and VLM models; distributed ML data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and applied scientists to build foundational content understanding signals and systems.
• Set a long-term technical vision for semantic signal generation and scalable model-powered infrastructure.
• Manage project execution, roadmap planning, and stakeholder updates to achieve business goals.
• Address challenges in throughput, latency, and cross-location collaboration across surfaces.
