Job summary

PayPal is seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join our Global Machine Learning team in San Jose. You will design and deploy ML solutions for personalization, ranking, and deals and promotions across PayPal surfaces.

You will work on large-scale ranking and recommendation systems, building graph-based assets and driving KPIs related to customer experience and revenue. Proficiency in Python/Java/Scala and ML frameworks is essential.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in quantitative field with 2+ years as individual contributor.
• Proven design/creation of AI/ML models for ranking and recommendations.
• Strong coding in Python/Java/Scala and data pipelines with Hive/SQL/BigQuery/Spark.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML solutions for personalization, ranking, and recommendations.
• Write scalable production code and deploy models on company infra.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing to define KPIs.
• Run experiments to measure KPIs and derive actionable insights.
