Job summary

Apple Services Engineering AI/ML is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for the ASE Search Team. You will design and deploy large-scale ML systems powering search and discovery across Apple platforms, including the Apple TV app, Siri, and Spotlight.

The role requires strong experience in ML, NLP, IR, and transformer models, with hands-on Python/Java/Go and ML libraries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product goals into scalable solutions while upholding privacy

Qualifications

• Experience in ML, NLP, IR, or LLMs.
• Strong coding in Python, Java and Go for scalable ML systems.
• Hands-on with PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow for training/deployment.
• Knowledge of search/information retrieval fundamentals.
• Experience with Hadoop, Java, Scala, Spark for big data pipelines.
• Experience with search or recommender systems and vector databases.
• Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven product development.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy large-scale ML systems powering search and discovery.
• Apply ML, NLP, and generative AI to model user intent and results.
• Build data processing, ML models, retrieval pipelines, and ranking systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to productionize ML tech at scale.
• Support Apple TV app discovery, Siri, and Spotlight integrations.
