Job summary

TikTok is offering a Search internship in Seattle to work on large-scale data, ML-driven ranking, and product experiences. You will contribute to search retrieval, ranking, and infrastructure while learning from mentors and peers.

Interns gain hands-on experience, participate in workshops, and build a foundation for future opportunities within a fast-growing tech company. Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript).
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, software fundamentals, and basic system design.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, testing, and iteration of Search features under guidance of engineers and mentors.
• Work with large-scale data, logs, metrics, or experiments to improve search quality.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and ML partners to define requirements and deliver milestones.
• Write clear, maintainable code and documentation for assigned workstreams.
• Communicate progress, risks, and learnings with mentors and stakeholders.
