Job summary

Clay is building a self-learning revenue engine in San Francisco. We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Learning Team, a centralized group of MLEs and data scientists shaping the intelligence engine behind learning loops across the product.

You will ship intelligence features that learn from user data and business signals, develop the ML platform, and partner with product teams to deliver smarter experiences that scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in machine learning engineering or ML-heavy software engineering.
• Strong engineering fundamentals; production-quality code.
• Experience with LLMs in production and/or classical ML.
• Experience building data-intensive systems: pipelines and feature infrastructure.
• Pragmatic product sense; optimize for user experience and impact.
• Comfort with ambiguity; platform built from the ground up.
• Passion for AI and staying current with innovations.

Responsibilities

• Build learning loops into the product, enabling systems to learn from user behavior and data.
• Build the ML and data platform, including data lake foundations and serving infrastructure.
• Make quality measurable with eval systems and online monitoring.
• Work with product teams to ship smarter surfaces across Clay.
