Job summary

Mithrl in San Francisco seeks an ML Engineer, Analysis and Simulation to build the core analytical and reasoning layer behind the Mithrl AI Co-Scientist, interpreting biological datasets and generating insights. You will design multi-step workflows that combine ML, biology, and computational modeling, and integrate ADMET prediction, docking scoring, and generative chemistry tools to advance drug discovery.

Collaborate with data, bioinformatics, and curation teams to ensure reproducible analyses

Qualifications

• Strong experience in ML, computational biology, or related scientific ML field.
• Experience developing analysis modules for biological datasets.
• Familiarity with target discovery, gene expression analysis, pathway inference, or statistical modeling.
• Hands-on experience with computational chemistry or simulation tools (e.g., ADMET, docking, molecular generation).
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries.
• Ability to translate messy scientific questions into structured ML workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration across scientific and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-driven analysis agents for biological reasoning across datasets.
• Develop standard analysis suites for each dataset (differential expression, pathway analysis, etc.).
• Design multi-step workflows combining ML, statistics, and biology.
• Integrate simulation and modeling tools for small molecule discovery.
• Collaborate with data engineering, bioinformatics, and curation teams.
• Validate results and ensure reproducibility of analyses.
• Contribute to long-term AI reasoning and hypothesis testing architecture.
