Job summary

Genentech, a member of the Roche group, seeks a machine learning engineer to build and evolve scalable AI/ML systems that accelerate drug discovery and development. You will work closely with Computational Scientists, Researchers, and product leaders to translate scientific data into actionable, reliable AI capabilities.

You will design AI-driven web apps and backend services, optimize model performance, and contribute to data pipelines and architecture.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
• Expert knowledge of statistics, ML theory, and algorithms.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures in public clouds (AWS).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and databases and data lakes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test scalable AI/ML driven web applications and backend systems.
• Build tools to evaluate AI/ML model performance and quality.
• Collaborate with product managers and scientists to translate needs into specs.
• Develop and maintain systems for collecting and organizing diverse data for analytics.
• Implement or evaluate new AI/ML algorithms and techniques.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews.
• Be willing to span the stack and learn new technologies as needed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
