Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a dedicated team member to assist and transport airline passengers requiring wheelchair support at the airport. You will help push passengers to/from gates, guide wheelchairs through jet bridges, and ensure safety checks before passenger transfer.

The role requires clear communication, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and the capacity to obtain an airport badge. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and shift work is expected in a fast-paced terminal setting.

Responsibilities

  • Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates.
  • Roll passenger-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridge.
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place before passengers exit wheelchair.
  • Complete wheelchair or incident reports as required.
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders and maintain professional relations with airline staff and airport authorities.
  • Provide friendly, attentive assistance to passengers and address questions or concerns.

Role Purpose

Responsible for assisting and transporting airline passengers requiring assistance, including wheelchair assistance at the airport.

What you will be doing
  • Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates
  • Roll customer-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridge
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
  • Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude and is attentive to each passenger's individual needs; by assisting passengers with any problems, questions, or concerns
  • Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities
  • Carry out other duties as assigned
