Job summary

Tindall Corporation, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, seeks a concrete batching operator to ensure timely production and batching with minimal downtime at our Georgia location.

You will follow safety and quality rules, mix concrete, monitor formulas, and coordinate with foremen and QC staff to meet production goals. Training provided; benefits include health, life, EAP, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and quality rules to ensure a safe work environment and high-quality products.
• Communicate with bed foremen and QC to determine concrete formula and cubic yards.
• Enter formula and adjust moisture, batch per required temperature.
• Monitor computer to ensure components weighed and mixed as required by the formula; inject steam as needed.
• Direct Equipment Operators to the correct mixer.
• Discharge concrete into delivery equipment.
• Mix concrete manually for small amounts.
• Clean mixer and work area daily.
• Substitute for Equipment Operators to deliver concrete as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Summary of Primary Functions :

Operate one mixer for maximum production to BDS. Ensure that concrete is batched on a timely basis with minimal downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.
• Communicate with bed foremen and QC personnel to determine concrete formula desired and number of cubic yards required.
• Call up formula from computer, enter number of cubic yards, and adjust moisture content as necessary.
• Monitor computer screen to ensure all components are weighed and mixed as required by the formula. Inject steam into mixture as required to batch concrete at requested temperature.
• Direct Equipment Operators to appropriate mixer.
• Discharge concrete into delivery equipment.
• Mix concrete manually when small amounts are needed.
• Clean mixer and work area daily; includes chipping and greasing as necessary.
• Substitute for Equipment Operators to deliver concrete as necessary.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Specifications or Qualifications :

Education and/or Experience : High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
