Job summary

THISBOWL USA LLC is hiring a Mixer in New York to welcome guests, guide them through the menu, and craft wholesome bowls from scratch in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

You will rotate across stations, deliver friendly service, operate the POS, and support teammates while upholding THISBOWL standards and a positive work culture.

Qualifications

The Role

As a Mixer at THISBOWL, you’ll be an ambassador of our core values. You’ll be responsible for providing personalized customer experiences, walking our guests through the menu and making wholesome bowls from scratch. The make-line moves fast and it moves together, meaning you’ll rotate across stations, communicate constantly and back up your teammates without being asked.

Skills And Experience

You’ll have:

• A background working in food, restaurants and/or customer experience (desirable, but not essential)
• Excellent communication skills
• A team player mindset and a positive can-do attitude
• Confidence working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience as a quick and adaptable learner
• Accountability in upholding high standards
• Genuine passion for hospitality and food (be a ‘foodie at heart’)
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays (with a variable schedule as per business needs)
• Comfort with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (Square experience is a plus)
• A NYC Food Protection Certificate (desirable but not essential)
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

Together With Your Fellow Mixers, Service Captains, And Your Restaurant Manager You’ll Create Delicious Bowls And Deliver An Exceptional Customer Experience. You’ll Be Expected To

• Make wholesome bowls from scratch
• Deliver superior customer service, to every customer, every time
• Operate a point-of-sale (POS) register to complete customer transactions
• Cross-train across every station in the make-line and move between stations—including the cooking of our hot proteins
• Live out THISBOWL’s people and culture standards by contributing to an excellent work culture.

Benefits And Compensation

• Earn $18 up to $22 per hour, plus tips of approx. $8-$12 per hour (depending on the season)
• Every 6 months, Mixers are eligible to receive a $1 per hour increase (up to $22 per hour) based on performance

• Maintain a professional appearance and presentation consistent with THISBOWL standards
• Adapt to changing priorities and move between workstations, tasks, and service areas as needed
• Safely operate restaurant equipment and tools required for the role
• Remain calm, professional, and effective in a fast-paced environment
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and move products, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant for extended periods, including using stairs where applicable
• Work in environments with varying temperatures, including refrigerated storage areas and near hot cooking equipment
• Be exposed to common food allergens, including but not limited to sesame, soy, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, and gluten
