Job summary

The Mixer is responsible for mixing dyes and chemicals according to specifications to meet the quality and efficiency standards of the company. This is an onsite role in Pinellas Park, FL with a 12-hour shift schedule and an initial training period from 8am to 6pm on dayshift for up to five weeks.

You will weigh materials, inspect color accuracy, handle 55-gallon drums, record batch results, and ensure proper hazmat handling and paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow formulas and safety rules.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Weigh solvents and resins according to the formula sheet.
• Inspect laminate formulas for correct color; adjust batch color as needed.
• Move and handle 55-gallon drums; follow safety regulations.
• Record batch quality control results and maintain records.
• Maintain hazardous waste drums with labeling, manifests, and log sheets.
• Inventory and conduct quality control inspections.
• Coordinate with Production Scheduler and Supervisor to plan and mix batches.
• Wear PPE and clean room attire; follow HazCom and hazardous waste policies.
• Attend HazCom and Hazardous Waste trainings.
• Keep work area clean; other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Mixer is responsible for mixing dyes and chemicals according to specifications to make formulations that meet the quality and efficiency standards of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Weighs out quantities of solvent and non-solvent base resins and chemicals, following formula sheet.
• Inspect laminate formulas for correct color and adjust color of batch if necessary.
• Move and handle 55-gallon drums to mix batches, make space and dispose of empty drums in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
• Record batch quality control results, and other related necessary recordkeeping.
• Inspect and maintain hazardous waste drums ensuring proper handling and paperwork, including proper labeling, manifests and log sheets.
• Maintain daily and weekly inventory of products. Perform Quality Control Inspections.
• Interface with Production Scheduler and Supervisor to plan and mix batches in accordance with production schedule.
• Wear personal protective equipment in designated areas and follow all safety policies. Wear clean room attire, when required, in Coating & Laminating areas.
• Working knowledge of HAZCOM and Hazardous Waste operations.
• Adherence to all rules and regulations for the handling of hazardous waste and chemicals.
• Attend Company provided Haz Com and Hazardous Waste Annual Training.

Special Requirements

• OSHA respirator protection fitting and training and certification

• Must be able to wear a full or partial cartridge respirator.

Physical Demands

• Requires climbing of ladders, crawling into tight areas and extended period of times on feet.
• Eyesight capable of inspecting and reading labels and documents.

• Clean shaven to allow proper use of respirator.
