Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; lifting over 25 pounds with assistance.
Responsibilities
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect diseases or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples; interpret results.
- Advise owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
- Provide guidance on pet end-of-life care.
- Maintain medical records and ensure compliance with ethics and policies.
